Promoting health and wellbeing in talented young dancers and musicians
As Music and Dance Scheme partners we are committed to promoting health and wellbeing and preventing injury and illness in talented young dancers and musicians. Following the Foundations for Excellence Music and Dance Scheme Conference 2009, we wanted to provide more information to help anyone working with young dancers and musicians “know more, support more” in this very important area of practice. So we’ve designed these pages as a first stop shop linking you to resources (mostly in the form of free downloads) published by a range of specialist organisations and also to information sheets we’ve specially commissioned.
Here you can download the Foundations for Excellence conference publication (hard copies available to buy from South West Music School) as well as the Principles and Practices drawn up after the conference to represent the ‘collective wisdom’ of conference presenters and delegates.
Check out the links to other resources, both for performers generally and also for dancers and musicians specifically. Please let us know if there are other aspects of health and wellbeing you think we should be covering! Please contact us though the contact us page.
